These recipes are ideal for family TV nights. 

SHRIMP COCKTAIL DRINK 

   Make a day ahead. 

   1 quart tomato juice
   1 32-ounce jar shrimp cocktail sauce
   2 4 1/2-ounce cans small shrimp, drained
   2 cups finely diced celery
   1/2 green pepper, finely diced
   1 green onion, finely diced
   1/4 cup sugar
   2 tablespoons lemon juice
   1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
   1 tablespoon vinegar
   1 1/2 teaspoons horseradish
   1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
   Salt to taste 

   Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate overnight. Makes about 3 quarts. 

YUKON GOLD POTATO-CHEESE SOUP 

   1/2 cube butter
   1 onion, diced
   6 cups Yukon Gold potatoes, cubed
   2 cups chicken broth
   1/2 cup cream
   1/2 cup sour cream
   2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
   Salt and pepper to taste 

   Melt butter in a soup pot or saucepan; brown onion and potatoes. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes. Add broth and cook 15 minutes more until potatoes are tender. Mash them a bit with a hand masher then add cream, sour cream and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted; salt and pepper to taste. Makes 4-6 servings.
