With Easter just around the corner, it is time to plan all the fun parties. Here is one great idea I have used when having children to my home to celebrate Easter.

I find that it works really well to have them make something. I go to the store and buy rolls of toilet paper, poster board and marking pens and bring them back and put them on a table. I show the kids an example of what they can make and turn them loose. It is a fantastic activity to keep the kids involved, and they have something to take home. Use paper towels to make larger bunnies, ducks and chicks.

Materials Needed for Tissue Easter Baskets

  • 1 roll of bathroom tissue per basket
  • Magic markers (for drawing faces)
  • Orange construction paper (for duck and chick beaks and feet)
  • Pink construction paper (for bunny ears and feet)
  • White pom-pom (for bunny tail)
  • White acrylic paint & sponge (for fur texture)
  • Miniature flowers, pom-poms, and ribbon
  • Straw hat (for the duck)
  • Glue gun

    • Attach beaks and feet to ducks, chicks, and bunnies using a glue gun.
  4. Add Details:
    • Sponge white acrylic paint on the bunny feet and ears for a furry effect.
    • Fill the tissue roll with Easter grass and candy.
  5. Decoration:
    • Add small flowers or pom-poms for decoration, tying a ribbon around the neck.
    • For the duck, finish with a cute straw hat.
