A Sunset I’ll Never Forget
It was one of those evenings that stay with you forever. I was on the west side of Iceland when the sun began to set, and the sky lit up with layers of purples, blues, and the most brilliant orange imaginable.
Off in the distance, the ocean shimmered quietly. Everything felt still, as if the world had paused—like Iceland was putting on a private show before saying goodnight. The shapes of the land and the reflections in the water were breathtaking.
We had been circling the country on Iceland’s famous Ring Road, a journey that takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. From waterfalls that tumble down cliffs to fields of moss-covered lava, black sand beaches, and steaming geothermal pools, it felt like every turn in the road brought a new kind of beauty.
Travel like this reminds me why I keep going. Now and then, you find yourself in a moment so perfect, so full of quiet magic, that it stays with you long after you’ve gone home. Iceland gave me many of those moments, but this one—watching the sky set fire to the day—was the kind I’ll carry with me always.
I took this photo at that exact moment, hoping to hold onto the magic I was feeling. And now, every time I look at it, I’m so glad I did. Sometimes, the best souvenirs are the moments we freeze in time with our cameras.
