Chores may not sound like fun, but when everyone’s outside, helping out can feel like an adventure! Try these chore chart ideas to give everyone a role and reduce stress.

Assign Jobs Ahead of Time

Let kids help choose their duties during the planning stage. Create a fun chart with stickers or drawings.

Sample Job List:

  • Meal Coordinator: Helps plan the menu, gather ingredients, and hand out snacks.
  • Equipment Checker: Makes sure flashlights, sleeping bags, and gear are ready.
  • Activities Leader: Picks and explains games and nature fun.
  • Helper in Training: For little ones—use pictures to create a checklist and have them find their own toys, blanket, or flashlight.

Make It Fun

Give out silly “badges” made from construction paper for completed tasks: “Best Tent Setter,” “Marshmallow Master,” or “Cleanup Captain.”

Kids feel empowered when they have jobs to do—and backyard camping becomes a real team effort!
