Easy Dutch Oven Cherry Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 18-inch heavy-duty aluminum foil
  • 2 (20-ounce) cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 (12-ounce) can lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up)

If you’ve ever wanted a warm, gooey dessert with zero fuss and maximum flavor, this Dutch Oven Cherry Cobbler is your new go-to. It’s a classic dump cake style recipe—perfect for camping, backyard fire pits, or even a cozy night in.

Cooking Steps

  • 1
Line a 12-inch Dutch oven with heavy-duty aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • 2
Pour both cans of cherry pie filling evenly into the bottom of the Dutch oven.
  • 3
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the cherry filling. Do not stir the cake mix into the fruit.
  • 4
Slowly pour the lemon-lime soda over the dry cake mix, making sure to cover as much of the surface as possible. Gently stir only the cake mix and soda to moisten the dry mix—do not mix in the fruit layer.
  • 5
Cover the Dutch oven and bake over medium heat for 35 minutes, using coals on both the top and bottom. The cobbler is ready when the top is golden brown and bubbly.
