What You’ll Need

Prepared cake batter (any flavor you love)
-
Paper baking cups
-
Muffin pan
-
Marbles or small balls of aluminum foil
-
Frosting
-
Valentine candies or sprinkles
How to Make Heart-Shaped Cupcakes
-
Prepare the pan
Line a muffin pan with paper baking cups. -
Fill with batter
Fill each cup about ½ full with cake batter. -
Create the heart shape
Place a marble or a small ball of aluminum foil between the paper liner and the muffin pan. This gently presses one side of the cupcake inward, forming a heart shape as it bakes. -
Adjust batter if needed
The cups should be about ⅔ full. Add a little more batter if necessary, but do not overfill — overfilling will cause the heart shape to disappear. -
Bake as usual
Bake according to your recipe’s instructions.
Decorating Your Valentine Cupcakes
Once the cupcakes have cooled:
-
Frost them with your favorite frosting
-
Pipe decorative frosting around the outside to emphasize the heart shape
-
Top with Valentine candies, sprinkles, or edible hearts
A Sweet Valentine Treat
