I do not know a kid that does not like to make a handprint in cement. I know as a little kid you would also see name in the new cement. There is a wonderful way that you can do this at home with kids and it will last a lifetime.

Materials Needed for Handprint Stepping Stones

  • List all the necessary materials:
    • Large plastic bucket
    • Premixed concrete
    • Water
    • Shovel or large stick for mixing
    • Foil pan (16-3/4 x 12″ x 3”)
    • Board for leveling the cement
    • Petroleum jelly

Step-by-Step Guide to Making Handprint Stepping Stones

  • Step 1: Mix cement and water in the plastic bucket.
  • Step 2: Pour the mixture into the foil pan and level it with the board.
  • Step 3: Apply petroleum jelly to the child’s hands and press them into the cement.
  • Step 4: Add name, age, and a special drawing or design if desired.
  • Step 5: Let the cement set, then pop out the stepping stone once dry.
