You can also fill this basket filled with hollow decorated eggs.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 rounded, tear-shaped balloon Crochet-cotton string (available at fabric or craft stores)
- Bows, ribbons, and other trims Easter grass and candies
Make a solution of sugar and hot water, and stir until the sugar is dissolved. While the solution is cooling, blow up the balloon and tie the end securely. Tie one end of the string to the knot in the balloon and wrap the string around the balloon in criss-crossing patterns. Pour the sugar solution into a large bowl and rotate the balloon until the string is completely saturated. Hang the balloon over a sink or bathtub to catch the sticky drips as it dries.
When the string is completely dry (about 24 hours), pop the balloon with a straight pin and carefully detach the string from the balloon. Cut the string to form the top edge and handle of the basket, and trim the cut edges with ribbon. Add a decorative bow and fill it with Easter grass, lightweight decorations, and candies.
